I Choose Healthy and Happy
A gentle companion for the first hard days of quitting.
How the spin works
Tap the lip balm to spin it. Each tap spins a little faster — one, two, three, four — and when it lands you get a comforting quote. The library isn't only from the distant past: it draws from three living sources, interleaved so no single voice dominates.
- Book of Mormon prophets — Lehi, Nephi, King Benjamin, Alma, Helaman, Mormon, Moroni, Amulek.
- The Bible — Psalms, Proverbs, Isaiah, the Gospels of Jesus, and letters of Paul.
- Voices from across the centuries — ancient to modern — Marcus Aurelius, Rumi, Confucius and Buddha; Emily Dickinson, Emerson, Frost and Eliot; Anne Frank, Viktor Frankl, Helen Keller, Nelson Mandela, MLK, Mother Teresa, Fred Rogers; and living teachers like the Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, Maya Angelou, Oprah, Brené Brown and Anne Lamott.
52 voices across roughly 3,215 years. Dates are approximate — placed to show the span, not to argue scholarship.
Save the ones that carry you. Pause any quote to keep it in view when you need to hold on to it a little longer.
Why a spinning balm
Smoking is not only chemistry — it's a hand-and-mouth ritual. Research on sensorimotor replacement (Rose & Behm; Hajek) shows that giving hands and mouth something else to do measurably reduces craving intensity. The spin occupies the hands; the balm soothes the lips; the quote settles the mind. A real Breathe Easy lip balm is on the way — pre-orders are open on the shop page.
The 72-hour clock
Nicotine clears the body in roughly 1–4 days (Benowitz). The countdown starts the moment you first tap the balm, and unlocks a confetti "personal victory" when it reaches zero. Need a rest day? Pause it — the clock stops, and your progress is saved. You're still choosing forward.
Photo policy — General Audience only
You can add your own photos to the wheel — family, pets, a favorite view, a reminder of why you're quitting. Every uploaded photo is scanned on your device the moment you add it. Any image that isn't General Audience is automatically erased before it is ever saved or shown on the wheel.
- • No nudity, sexual content, or suggestive imagery.
- • No graphic violence, gore, or self-harm imagery.
- • Please do not upload photos of other people's children without consent.
Screening runs entirely in your browser — your photos are never uploaded to a server. If a photo can't be verified as General Audience, we erase it and let you know.
